Walter Johnson High School is home to one of the largest co-ed hockey clubs in the state of Maryland with almost 50 skaters and three teams. In 2004-2005, the club won the Maryland state championship and for the past two years, the Varsity 1 team has made the state playoffs. In addition to hockey, the club also performs service projects throughout the year and runs an annual citrus sale for Montgomery County residents.
