The Upper Montgomery high school ice hockey team is a cooperative team formed from student athletes attending six local high schools in the Up-County region of Montgomery County, Maryland. Eligible student athletes from Clarksburg High School, Damascus High School, Gaithersburg High School, Poolesville High School, Seneca Valley High School, and Watkins Mill High School may participate in the program. The team fields a Varsity team, a Junior Varsity team, and has a developmental squad for student athletes working toward improving their individual skills. The Upper Montgomery hockey club team nickname is the Lightning.
