Hoyas Draw Tie V Bullis

The Hoyas start the week with a tough 1-1 tie vs. their IAC rival Bullis. While there wasn’t much scoring, Alex Chaconas hit in a pass from Patrick Fitzgerald just 51 seconds into the game. The offensive attack was featured by a team second highest shot total of 48 shots. The team played very good defense, with only 12 shots allowed and just one penalty to their name. Prep will play St. Stephen’s + St. Agnes on Friday night, 6:20 pm at Cabin John, for senior night.

Hoyas Edge Out Landon In Nail-Biter

The Hoyas continue their win streak! Prep topped the Landon Bears 3-2 on Friday night at Cabin John, moving to 7-1 on the season and staying atop the MAPHL. Prep trailed early, losing 1-0 at the end of the first, but came out firing on all cylinders in the second, with Patrick Fitzgerald and Peter Roche scoring, both assisted by Alex Chaconas. With a 2-2 tie heading into the third, the team faced its most important period of hockey all season and stood up to the challenge, with freshman Walker Johnston scoring his first goal of the season, going up 3-2 with ten minutes left in the game. The score would not change. Elon Granston had himself yet another game, going 30/32. Prep will play Bullis Wednesday, 1/29, at 5:50 at Rockville, then vs. SSSA on Friday, at 6:30 at Cabin John for Senior Night.

Hoyas Continue Win Streak Against Gonzaga

The Hoyas picked up a third straight win in a Wednesday night 3-2 victory over Gonzaga at Rockville. The power play was in special effect for the team, going 2/4 on opportunities. The offensive attack was led by Peter Roche, who had one goal and an assist, along with Seamus McNally, who had the clutch third goal to put Prep up with 8 minutes left along with one assist. Prep’s defense played strong for the majority of the day but stepped it up in the third period. Elon Granston saved 20/23 shots.
