The Hoyas were backed by a mass of students when they took the ice this Wednesday to play Landon. The Hoyas were looking for a win against their IAC opponents after taking a loss to Gonzaga the previous week. Both teams came out strong, but it was the Hoyas that took home the first goal of the game scored by James Flannery. The Hoyas were mostly on the defensive when the first period ended, with the shot count coming out heavily in favor of Landon. In the second period, however, The Hoyas dominated the ice despite Landon scoring early in the period. Goals from Patrick Fitzgerald in the eleventh minute and breakaway goal from Alex Chaconas in the thirteenth put the Hoyas at a 3 -  1 lead going into the third period, as well as closing the shot gap significantly. Prep continued to control the game in the third quarter, and despite significant time playing a man down, denied Landon a second Goal. Prep Goalie Elon Granston can be largely commended, saving 32 out of 33 shot put on net. The Hoyas hope to continue their success going into their next game against Bishop O'Connell, a team that they have already defeated in their season opener.
