The Hoyas returned from two weeks of break to play Churchill, a team that Prep had defeated in a distinctive 9-2 victory earlier in the season. The Hoyas took the first and second goals early in the first, but it was Churchill's Hayden Farrand closing the gap and making the score 2-1 in the Hoyas favor at the end of the first. The Hoyas started to pull ahead in the second, however, with goals from Flannery, Roche, and Fitzgerald scoring 5, Roche and Flannery scoring with 8 and 1 seconds remaining in the period respectively. Churchill managed to score again in the third, but their attempt at a comeback proved futile as McCarthy, scoring his first Prep goal, and Fitzgerald putting two more in the back of the net making the final score of the game 9-2 once again. The Hoyas will play this Friday against St. Pauls school while they look towards Wednesday in their MAHPL conference game against Gonzaga.
