Georgetown Prep assistant coach Duante Abercrombie, an alumnus of the NHL's Hockey is for Everyone program, is featured in the league's Color of Hockey blog on nhl.com, as he climbs the coaching ladder. In addition to his duties at Prep, Abercrombie was recently hired as an assistant at NCAA Division III Stevenson University, located outside of Baltimore.
According to the story, Abercrombie started playing hockey at the age of six when he laced them up for Washington's storied Ft. Dupont Ice Hockey Club and later starred in high school for Gonzaga, where he led the Eagles to four Maryland Student Hockey League/MAPHL championships.
