PENDLETON’S HAT TRICK LEADS DEMATHA OVER CALVERT HALL

Henry Pendleton's hat trick paced DeMatha's 10-0 shutout of Calvert Hall on Friday night at Laurel.

Henry Pendleton ’s hat trick was more than enough for DeMatha as the Stags overpowered Calvert Hall, 10-0, at Laurel on Friday night. The home team scored two goals in the first and broke the game wide open with five goals in the second period.

Alvon Barard IV scored an even-strength goal and Erick Reiniger notched a power-play tally in the first period before Jonathan Matta and Ryan Olson scored in the second to put the Stags up 4-0. Pendleton followed with two consecutive goals and Ryan Salb added a shorthanded goal with 7.8 seconds left in the second.

In DeMath’s three-goal third period, Pendleton’s third goal of the game was sandwiched by goals from Collin Mercier and Olson’s second of the tilt.

The Stag’s goaltender Andrew Takacs made 13 saves to earn the shutout.
