Two outstanding MAPHL coaches received the first-ever Ervin J. Terwilliger "Coach of the Year Award. Terwilliger began his high school coaching career in 1991 at Mount St. Joseph's in Baltimore. In his first season as head coach, he took the team to the state finals, establishing what would be a hockey power house for most of the next two decades. Terwilliger registered back-to-back state titles in 1994 and 1995.

St. Albans head coach Dan Ryan earned the award in the "AA" Division after leading the Bulldogs to a 10-1-1 record and a second-place finish in the MAPHL regular season.

Landon's Ricky Sears received the award in the "A" Division after leading the Bears to a 5-3 record and second-place finish in the division.
