GONZAGA POWERS PAST GEORGETOWN PREP

Freshman Connor Tait led the Gonzaga Eagles with a natural hat trick, scoring three straight goals in a 6-1 victory over Georgetown Prep on Friday night at Cabin John Ice Rink.

Gonzaga jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with two power play goals 15 seconds apart in the opening period. Chase Vallese scored 2:29 into the game and Jason Harper tallied at 2:44.

Tait recorded his hat trick by scoring a shorthanded goal with 1:30 left in the first period, a power play goal at 12:29 and an even strength goal at 15:50 of the second period.

Gonzaga's Jack Sanborn scored to make the score, 6-0, before Georgetown Prep's MacDowell Johnston ruined Eagle goaltender Jalen Greene's shutout bid with a power play goal while the Little Hoyas were on a two-man advantage.
