Graydon Joyce knew what was on the line entering Monday’s Washington County Northstars hockey game at the Hagerstown Ice & Sports Complex.

The Northstars were sitting atop the Monocacy Valley division standings with the chance to clinch the top seed in next week’s playoffs.

Everybody knew.

The proof was a near-capacity crowd and the Antietam Broadband television crew broadcasting the game. It was also senior night.

So naturally, the junior from Boonsboro turned it up a notch with eyes on the top seed.
